Problems Printing to an HP Printer (Serial Device)

When I followed all of the instructions for the serial device for Solaris 2.5, I was able to print postscript files that consisted of a single page. Multiple pages, however, did not work. The final page or two was printed half on one page, half on the other, or not at all. I had my eeprom settings set to:

ttya-mode=19200,8,n,1,h
ttya-rts-dtr-off=false
ttya-ignore-cd=false

which seemed right.

I then had problems after the machine was rebooted. I needed to set everything up again. Ultimately, I decided the connection from the serial port to the printer was not configured properly. However, I didn't know how to fix it. The printer interface supposedly initializes the serial port properly but I don't think it did. Others have reported similar trouble and my suggestion is to use the parallel port if you have it, until someone can let me know if they have solved the trouble.
